Leucojum (summer snowflake)

Leucojum is in the Amaryllidaceae family and is native to Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe; Northwest Africa; and Turkey.

Leucojum aestivum 'Gravetye Giant' is a short-lived, extravagantly flowering variety.

This Leucojum grows to about 30 cm high and is available from January to the end of March.

Leucojum lasts longest when you put it in a light, cool spot, and does best outdoors. It can survive a light frost without any problems.

You can keep Leucojum in its pot or you can plant several of them together in a large pot or in the garden. In the garden, they will blossom the longest and return every year if they are shaded by trees.
