The crocus is in the Iridaceae family and is native to Central and Western Europe.
Crocuses are available in three different colours: purple, white and yellow.
The plants grow to about 15 cm tall.
The purple crocuses and the white crocuses are available from December to the end of March. The yellow crocuses are available from late January to the end of March. They last longest when you put them in a light, cool spot, and they do best outdoors. They can survive a light frost without any problems.
You can keep crocuses in their pots or you can plant several of them together in a large pot or in the garden. It can be beautifully combined with other bulbous plants, such as Fritillaria, Muscari, or Narcissus.
